Xbox Live Restitution - Free Game Details Revealed
Earlier I reported that Microsoft would be offering a free game as a peace offering for the mass amounts of Xbox live downtime during the holiday season. Microsoft has been rather hush hush with details about this offer and I've personally been on the edge of my seat waiting to hear what it is. As of today, the mystery was finally solved on the open letter from Marc Whitten.
We’re pleased to announce that from 2:00 a.m. PST Wednesday, January 23, 2008 through 11:59 p.m. PST, Sunday, January 27, 2008 you can download the full version of the recent Xbox LIVE Arcade game, Undertow free of charge.
Thankfully, I have not already purchased this title. Those of you that have, we'll have to wait and see if there will be reimbursement. Undertow is a bizzare mix between scuba diving, geometry wars and capture the flag. It's actually quite fun, and even more so with online play.

Meh. Played the demo and didnt care for it. Instead of offering the game they should be offering the points.

Yeah, they REALLY should just give everyone points or something, because I hated the demo for that.

My xbox went Red Ring Of Death The other day, and I doubt I will get it back before the end of Feb.. What pfft..
Unless of course I give my HDD to someone to download it for me :D

Great stuff, I never experienced any trouble with Xbox live over Christmas, and I'm getting a free game.
I am most happy.
Well, that gesture quickly became worthless. If I wanted Undertow, I would have bought it when it came out. I'm surprised they just didn't credit us with a month of Xbox Live. At least that's something we could all use.

booo undertow booo, why not at least offer up some of their so-called newly lower priced greatest hits titles. or points, i like that idea too. i'll still download it because it's free, but i won't enjoy it while i'm playing.
Crappy game but it's free I guess. Another Yaris :'(
