AIAS Winners To Be Promoted At GameStop

So film has the Oscars, music has their Grammys and TV has their Emmys. What about video games? Great production goes into the titles we love and each news site awards noteworthy games at the end of the year. Since 1996 the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences have stepped up to become our industry standard of excellence. The Academy's Board of Directors is comprised of industry veterans who promote awareness of the art of video games by donating their time to award outstanding games.
In a recent announcement from GameStop, they have decided to promote the AIAS award winners with special attention in their stores. The titles will bear a sticker noting the achievement, such as "Game of the Year", "Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction", and "Family Game of the Year" to name a few.
Their decision to promote these games will do a great service to those gamers who want good recommendations, but don't follow the industry very closely. It also reinforces the merits these games have won in the same way movies and CDs get repackaged when they win Oscars and Grammys. Hopefully the stickers will peel off nicely and not leave all that goo behind like the used stickers do. Yuck! They make my game all gummy.
