Brain Training's Dr. Kawashima Says No To Royalties
Turning down royalties almost seems like reason for institutionalization. The creator of the title Brain Training and figure head (quite literally in fact!) said no to the free money he would get in royalties.
Not a single yen has gone in my pocket,Everyone in my family is mad at me but I tell them that if they want money, go out and earn it.
Brain Training has sold over 17 million copies worldwide, totaling to a wopping 2.4 billion yen (11million dollars), and the man turned it down. When asked he stated he was quite happy living off his 11 million yen a year salary.
Instead, Dr. Kawashima invested his portion of the royalties into his research Tohoku University's Institute of Development, Aging and Cancer. Stating his work is his hobby, and that his research is where all his time goes anyway.
