Capcom Introduces Abel In Street Fighter IV
Ahead of the AUO arcade show this weekend in Japan, Capcom have let some information out concerning Abel, the tenth fighter to be unveiled in the undeniably gorgeous and upcoming Street Fighter IV. Here is a snippet of Abel's story:
With no memory of his past, this young man has no choice but to move forward, using any clue he can get his hands on to rout out what may be left of Shadaloo. His fighting style represents a mix of multiple martial arts. Though he appears gruff and unfriendly on the surface, he is not the misanthrope he seems to be. His serious and polite nature is easy to misinterpret as indifference, but these still waters run deep indeed.

MMA in Street Fighter was bound to happen. He looks pretty boring to me. :(
Yeah, appearance is kinda bland, why don't SF Fighters accessorize more :P ALso, some of these muscles he has don't exist IRL but would maybe be useful in certain situations, IE cracking a nut between your pinkie and your biceps...
I think it's cool that they're coming out with SF4. I just think it sucks it's looking like SFII in SEXHD. I mean don't get me wrong. I don't have anything against SFII but we've had the game for over a decade now, it's time to step it up. Perfect example, 3rd Strike :D
I hate the new Crimson Viper, but this new character Abel looks really good and he happens to have the same name I do in real life, so he's my me favorite (sexy thighs too).
his toes are freakishly long. I almost expect him to hang from a branch by his feet.
BAH! MMA sucks! However, given its rising popularity within the martial arts community, it only makes sense that they include such a character.
This game looks BAD! I dont get it... this could have been done years ago and looked the same. I dont think 'realism' is the way to go for this title but this is such a lame attempt to update without REALLY updating it at all.
Agreeing with everyone who thinks Abel looks bland. Really, T. Hawk plus Cody plus a pretty blue outfit. This is especially notable in comparison to the very SNKish Crimson Viper, who's not really my taste either but has style to spare.
Now I'm trying to remember whether I liked Cammy straight off or not.
Yawn and groan on the look. I'm so tired of the whole amnesia gimmick, too. There are other stories. I'm hoping the gameplay will innovate enough to make it interesting, but I'm not holding out for a triumph.
I'm kinda worried about SFIV. It's like Capcom realized SF2 was the only SF game people cared about and decided to stiffle any innovation and evolution that has occurred since SFII's inception. Now we'll have SFII HD Remix and SFIV which is SFII in 3D but not crappy nauseating EX 3D.
The character is 'meh at best. I thought he looked like one of the henchmen from Inspector Gadget. A friend looking over my shoulder saw the bio screen. Tried to look a little closer and asked me quietly 'Is it just me... or does that guy have a massive dick print?'
Good to see an MMA based character, too bad he isn't ridiculously hot like George St Pierre. Then again if he was based on GSP he'd be dramatically overpowered and would ruin the game with his hot awesomeness.
