Truth be told, I love to shop for video games almost as much as playing them. It could be the thrill of the hunt or it could be breaking the shrink wrap and inhaling the scent of fresh ink from the instruction manual. Whatever the reason for my compulsion, it led me to walk out of CompUSA with four new games -- even after getting Professor Layton and Lost Odyssey this week -- all thanks to their final store closing sale.
If you have any CompUSA locations that are still open (they won't be for long), be sure to get over there this morning. As of this writing, nearly everything in the store is 40% off, but specifically I found some great gaming deals there. From my experience in the Houston store, there were plenty of Xbox 360, Xbox, PS2, PSP and PS3 games, as well as some Wii and DS titles. Available accessories were Xbox 360 battery packs, Wii points, Halo 3 wireless headsets. It may smell like leftovers, but these leftovers I don't mind picking through.
So after two trips and a lot of guilt-ridden internal dialogue, I settled in at home with brand new copies of Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, Def Jam's Icon, Project Sylpheed, and Ulimate Mortal Kombat for $30, $16, $15 and $18 respectively. At this particular location, there were easily 150+ titles available in their selection, but they were going fast!
If you're fortunate enough to have access to a CompUSA that is still open, drop by and see what bargains you can find. If you find a deal that's worthwhile, try to peel yourself away from your new game long enough to sound off in our comments and let us know what you scored!
