GayGamer Week In Review - Week Of 1/28/2008

Hope everyone had a happy Groundhog's Day!
- News started leaking about Sony phasing out the 80 GB PS3, with a replacement to be named later. Like a number of middle aged men, they may choose a newer, slimmer model.
- Wootini dove into Endless Ocean for the Wii.
- Super Smash Bros. Brawl launched in Japan, and they lap it up like milk for a kitten. The rest of the world gets an avalanche of information, including the full spoiler-iffic intro video.
- With luck, the Xbox defense will soon be considered as illogical and laughable as the twinkie defense.
- We found out the Wii was definitely getting an Animal Crossing. Other details are a little scarce.
- This week's XBLA update gave us a touchstone of modern gaming. Oh, and some other game called Rez.
- This week's GayGamer podcast featured special guest Colette Bennet of Destructoid.com.
- We got a taste of Grasshopper Manufacture's Fatal Frame
- The Wii's Virtual Console is actually a bargain, so shop without guilt.
- GTA 4 uglies up some telephone poles with their advertising. I hope no Niko Bellick look-a-likes get hurt in the process.
- Portal 2 is on it's way, but I doubt even Valve has the foggiest idea about how to make it. Ticked off computer DorOS/2? A reinforced companion polyhedron? "The cobbler is rather misleading"?
- Only a few more days to Devil May Cry 4, but you impatient types can check out the opening right now.
- Wootini kicked off a probable new feature here on GayGamer, Overlooked, taking a gander at games you might have missed or that have fallen under the radar of the gaming public. This installment focused on My Sims for the Wii. Look for more games to be featured in the future.
