New Details And Screens From Sonic Chronicles: Dark Brotherhood

Over at IGN, Matt Casamassina has a short interview with Bioware's Mark Darrah, producer of the DS RPG Sonic Chronicles: Dark Brotherhood. Of course, the company known for their grand storytelling has cooked up something epic for the game:
Eggman was defeated some time ago and Sonic has gone out to explore the rest of his world. He has been gone for a while and then gets a call from Tails - Knuckles has been kidnapped! Not only that, the chaos emeralds are disappearing!
Er, OK! Darrah also confirms that the game aims to retain that sense of "speed and attitude" that the traditional Sonic platformers have, and that the Sonic Chronicles will have "loop-da-loop" moments. He also teases that while the first act of the game will have the characters visiting all the traditional Sonic environments, a darker act two takes place in another dimension that the developers aren't ready to reveal. Darrah doesn't say much that we didn't already know about the game, but the screenshots show off the previously unseen environments, which match the "hand-drawn" description given previously.
Sonic Chronicles is due out later this year, although no firm date is set.

Is that a vaguely 3D looking Sonic I see, if it is it will suck, guaranteed 1000000% guaranteed, like every single thing Sonic has done in 3D and vaguely 3D, I'd call it isometric, but semantics are semantics.
Lets see if we can get some Sonic apologists in the house.
Bioware makes great RPG - and whether you like their style or not, it's undeniable that they make RPG that sells amazingly well. But, it seems that if Sonic is not with Mario nowadays, he falls under the star trek curse that games he stars in are underwhelming.
How are Bioware adding "speed" into a RPG.
I have faith in Bioware doing this justice, but whether it will be like what we expect is another matter.
nooooo! another Sonic game. honestly, I don't think i can stand to play any more of them. i mean i'm a fan and all, but there's really only so much i can take. well since i'll be buying it regardless, i certainly hope it's halfway decent. perhaps like super mario RPG. did anybody else play that? is that on the wii virtual console yet? it should be.
