PlayStation Network Update 2-22-08

Welcome back for another edition of PlayStation Network Update. The offerings this week are kinda slim, but there are a few gems. If you haven't already purchased PixelJunk Monsters, I would highly recommend a download of the newly released demo. The game is incredibly addictive and has an utterly charming style. Q-games went from zero to hero from the rather lackluster PixelJunk Racers, to PixelJunk Monsters.
One of the biggest letdowns this week is the PAIN expansions. Grrrrr.... We want a new level! PAIN is great fun, but just release another level already. There are two add-ons, the "Fun with explosives!"single player game mode and a new character, "Hung Lo".
There is a new PS1 game available to play on the PSP and PS3, Jet Moto 3 for $5.99.
The Rock Band DLC for this week is each available for the usual price of $1.99.
Garbage's "Why do you love me?"
Stone Temple Pilots' "Sex Type Thing"
Weezer's "El Scorcho"
The Lair: Asylian Theme is new to the network for a free download. This sort of content is used to keep people aware of the game. Maybe there will be a patch coming to fix the controls. I'm hoping Factor 5 goes in and creates that patch. So many people were turned off by that one feature of the game. The rest of it is beautiful. If they do, it will be interesting to see how the sales will pick up, and how the controls will impact the public opinion of the game.
Then comes the videos, the best of the week is the Bionic Commando Rearmed trailer. Download it, watch it, get it. This is drool-worthy material here folks. Any fan of the original is required to purchase this game on release, it's going to be available for the 360 and PS3, you have no excuse. Yum!
There are 3 MLB 08 The Show videos, another Conflict: Denied Ops Developer Diary, the Kung Fu Panda movie teaser trailer, and the We Own The Night Blu-Ray trailer.

I was impressed with the new Pixel Junk demo. Really need to get it at some point.
I for one had no problems with Lair's controls but that isn't the point of this. The point is that theme kicks ass and i love the new emblems it uses.
I am another "didn't hate Lair" supporter. The controls were a little unreliable when you needed them, but no one seems to point out the gorgeous 1080 graphics, 7.1 sound, engaging story, and fun gameplay (minus that control thing). A patch would be welcome, and hopefully rescue this killer game out of the dustbin it was summarily chucked into at launch.
Definitely was hoping for a new PAIN level too... bring it!
