Square Says The World Ends With You, Pins Down Date

A while back, we covered The World Ends With You, a modern action-RPG set to come out on the Nintendo DS sometime in early Spring 2008. Well, it has officially received a launch date. The World Ends With You will arrive on North American shores on April 22, 2008 for $39.99 (USD). Here's a refresher of the story for you:
The story begins as Neku Sakuraba, an unsociable 15-year-old boy, unexpectedly wakes up in the Shibuya shopping district of Tokyo, Japan. While trying to piece together his rude awakening, he receives a strange text message warning him that he will cease to exist unless he accomplishes a certain mission. Although he barely has time to grasp what is happening to him, he commences his assigned task in the mysterious streets of Shibuya.
Earlier screenshots of the game definitely look interesting. I think the game holds a lot of promise and I hear that a lot of people who already have the game overseas absolutely love it. Here's hoping it will do well over here. For more details and a list of features, make the jump.

I don't know if this $40 price tag is because Square is getting greed, those higher-memory cards cost that much more, or both.
I wish they would just focus and GET ME SOME DAMN FFXIII!!!! lol
I'm sick of hearing how expensive games are in the US. I'd kill to be paying $40 for a DS game retail here in Australia. An average DS game costs AU$69.95 here, which is about $63 US. PS3 games are even more outrageous. Third party developed games are AU$110 (US$99). A far cry from the $60 price point you get.
I wasn't complaining about how expensive they are here, I was complaining about the price rising. If it rises here in the US, it will probably rise in your country too, so my question remains valid and region-free.
It's a good game, though. I picked it up used at Book-Off, and am enjoying it thoroughly (although I shouldn't judge the plot until I actually finish it -- I'm only about half-way through).
That's my birthday! Wahoo!
