Video: PixelJunk Eden Has Some Solid Style
The PixelJunk brand had a really rough start with PixelJunk Racers, which left me cold and indifferent. Q-games came back with vengeance on the second outing with PixelJunk Monsters, which had some great deep gameplay and steep difficulty, but had me coming back for more. The latest entry in the series is PixelJunk Eden which has an incredibly beautiful art style, that looks like an interactive digital painting.
The game looks like a momentum-based platformer, where you aim your reticle to shoot your dot and release to launch yourself onto the next obstacle. It seems that you can leave behind a tether to whip yourself around the screen, building momentum to reach the next ledge. Pretty basic stuff here in the gameplay department, but it makes up for that with some killer interactive art.

While "incredibly beautiful" may be a little strong, it definitely has a distinct style, and the gameplay appears to be unique at the least. Meanwhile, what does "PixelJunk" mean? Maybe I've missed it, but I don't see the connection between the games so far.
This is what I like my games to look like, very abstract. When I said incredibly beautiful, I meant it. When a game is designed with abstract graphics, it tends to age better, since it's not going for a 'realistic' look.
Looks very amazing to me. And it looks like it could be a great port for the DS. Here's hoping for a DS version!
