EA To Spill Forth A Fountain Of Sims Info
Electronic Arts have set up a page for The Sims 3. The franchise has been around for what seems like forever and has done very well for the company. The first was definitely a unique game and the second improved upon that formula greatly. It has also managed to draw in people who might not typically play games. I know for sure my best friend's sister was a Sims addict and had to be pried away from the keyboard when we needed the PC for something. Silly thing. Anyways, the page says that more information will be heading our way on March 19, 2008. So all you Sims fans had better keep an eye out for it.

Let's hope Sims 3 is a bit more user-friendly then Sims 2.
I loved the first one because you could easily use custom content, but I tried the same with the second one and more than half the stuff I tried to use didn't become available.
You can check out some info about this game at 1up.com.
From what I've read, the major changes in the next game are that the sandbox you play in isn't the house anymore, its the entire neighborhood - so basically you don't feel boxed into your house as much.
Also, there is much less emphasis on micro management - pooping and showering (which actually I'm not sure how I feel about).
I know loads of people (all girls) who don't play anything else but Sims, but are addicted to it. I wouldn't necessarily call them girl gamers, since imo one needs to play a variety of games before being a true gamer, but it really is no wonder why Sims is such a great concept - it really draws in people who wouldn't play games otherwise.
For the record, I do know girls who I consider to be true gamers as well, so I'm not deluded that way. ;D
