Mario & Sonic Sells 5 Million? Really? No, Really?

Nobody ever expected to see Mario and Sonic in a videogame together, but apparently, all you need is that strong of a hook, and you're guaranteed tremendous sales. How else to explain that Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games has sold five million copies in just over three months? I mean, in the interest of full disclosure, I haven't played the game (either the Wii or DS version), but it didn't look that great, and got middling-to-poor reviews from what I read.
"With adored icons and fun game play, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games has shot to the top of the sales charts and is clearly resonating with the growing audience of casual gamers that want an engaging and accessible gaming experience," said Simon Jeffery, President and COO, SEGA of America.
Ah, the casual gamers. That's who's to blame. I see. Well, then they have only themselves to blame when they do an equally-mediocre sequel. Me, I'm going to go back to No More Heroes, thanks.

Thanks for saying so! I picked up the title and after one fun night of playing with friends I found the game dull when played alone. So dull I tossed it back for a trade in on my copy of Smash Brothers

Ugh.... does this mean more people bough Mario VS Sonic then they did buy Mario Galaxy or Ratchet and Clank? I think I'm going to be sick from general consumer's taste. Barf.
