Multiplayer March Madness!

Okay, that settles it. Dan gets to plan every single GayGamer meetup from now on. The location, while being out in New Jersey, was convenient enough to get to, and we had the entire run of the place, giving us three whole floors of gaming fun. There was a great turnout, and everyone had a blast playing games and hanging out. If you were there, you already know all this, but if you weren't, make the jump to hear all about it and see some pictures from the event!
The Pride Connections HQ is a nice little building with three floors that allowed us to have a massive setup for Super Smash Bros. Brawl on the ground floor with a projection screen. Up on the third floor library was a full Rock Band setup, and on the middle floor was a PS2 the organization already had that was ultimately supplanted with another Wii. Of course, instead of offering another gaming alternative, it ended up hosting a second Brawl group. I'd never played a Smash Bros. game before, so I took the opportunity to try it out, and unfortunately found myself hopelessly out of my depth. So I spent most of my time on Rock Band, where I wouldn't embarrass myself as much.
A couple of small technical snafus in the very beginning were handily smoothed out by our distractingly cute host, Guido, and many hours of gaming, pizza and fun were had. Of course, while many of us brought our portable systems, I didn't see one DS or PSP in use the whole evening. If people weren't playing Brawl, they were watching and waiting their turn. So I guess I shouldn't have worried my DS wasn't fully charged after all!
At one point, the crowd on the first floor must have thinned out, because when I ventured down there for another drink, I saw that another console was being set up. And it was a Dreamcast, of all things! Of course, it was just used to play Power Stone 2, another four-person fighting game, so it's not like it was that big of a change! And ultimately the Wii was hooked back up to the projector #&151; Nothing can withstand the might of Brawl!
Unfortunately, when you gather such a large group of gamers together, obviously the games are going to come first. But eventually everyone got it out of their system and got to know each other better. (No, not like that! What kind of tramps do you think we are?)
Special thanks must be given to Guido for letting us use the space (and even inviting us back again!), Connor for the delicious cookies, Acadian and HarperDude for consoles, Gaylord for giving me a ride so I could lug the entire Rock Band setup out to Jersey, and Dan for organizing the whole shebang. Everyone had a blast!
So... when's the next one?

Looked like a blast! Hope everyone had fun. Wish I could have been there! :D
"When's the next one?"
Come back anytime - looking forward to it!
You know what would be a cool feature?
If like when you hovered over a person it would show their forum name (if they had one of course)
Just a thought. Looked like a blast. I'd have LOVED to play power stone :)

I don't have all the names, but you can check out who I can remember/ID.
Oh, this isn't a multiplayer night, but it is a bar night out in Brooklyn at Barcade. Again, anyone and everyone is welcome! Gamer or not, gay or straight, from NY or CA... If I'm buzzing, you'll all get hugs from me. Bring your friends, family and significant others! It'll be a lot of fun!

Is it just me or is the Xplorer Controller upside down in the main picture?
That's awesome, forget lefty flip, going for the 'Southern Hemisphere' technique.
Oh, you right-handers.
