Netflix On Your Xbox?
Okay, remember wa-ay back when I told you that there was a rumor about Netflix investigating the possibility of streaming its movie rentals onto consoles like the PS3 and the Xbox 360? Well, Reuters has picked up the story this week, giving it the air of legitimacy and leaning now towards the 360. Netflix spokesperson Steve Swasey wouldn't say anything about announcing a partnership with Microsoft, but only that Netflix was interested in getting movies to viewers' eyeballs "in as many ways as possible."
I had no idea about this part, but apparently in January, Netflix partnered with LG Electronics to produce a set-top box to stream movies to high-definition televisions. I haven't been able to avail myself of Netflix's streaming rentals because it doesn't work on Mac, but wow... if I could use my 360 to stream rentals straight onto my high-def TV, I'd never leave the house again!
