New Shots Of Sonic Unleashed
Aside from a trademark application, not much has gotten out about Sonic Unleashed, a presumably current gen title under development at Sega. For all (five) of you clamoring for information, a few screenshots seem to have leaked out showing details of the game. The environments look Mediterranean-inspired, maybe Spanish, and the robots look menacingly adorable (or adorably menacing). Nothing else jumps out at me, and it's way too soon to be deciding about whether the game will return the Hedgehog to any kind of form.
Details on the platform and release date are still a mystery, so these shots will just have to keep the fires of your imagination burning or douse them like a wet sponge. Assuming these screens are legitimate, expect to hear more before too long.

£100 that this game gets at least 2.5 more points [out of 10] that a none sonic game of the same quality would get.. lounging around a 7.5 out of 10, the same game with someone else starring would get a 5[ish]
50x that on the fact it will suck, 200x that on the fanboys will try and justify their purchase with a badly worded rant that won't actually address any criticisms of the game..
Please be better than 360/PS3 Sonic the Hedgehog...please oh please oh please...
They should just let another company make the Sonic games, I'd love to see what Insomniac would do with the franchise.

The screens look nice; it still amazes me though how incapable team Sonic (apparently) is at making a good Sonic game.
why does everyone always rag on sonic
ok the last few games were a bit flimsy, but c'mon.. which other video game characters have abided for so long in the public consciousness?
sonic and mario, that's about it ;)
let's hope for a decent game that can rival the first few Sonic titles a decade or so ago
A return to old form would be very welcome. The screens look beautiful also..
But I can't help thinking that having Sonic in Brawl was kinda his swan song.. One last hurrah.

2 Things jump out at me from the pictures.
In some of the pictures it looks like Super Sonic is protecting Dr. Robotnik from something off screen. Robotnik taken out of the main villian role is...worrisome.
Also, in one of the pictures (the one with the big wooden crates) it looks like the same perspective as the Wii Sonic game. I dunno, in that picture it just gives me a very similar feel, so maybe Sonic Unleashed will be a Wii game.
@Duckols: No! You got it all wrong! First Dr. Robotnik forces Sonic to get into Super mode then lures him into a device that extracts the chaos emeralds from his system. Robotnik is still the bad guy,

Have all, yes all been substandard outings, as I said in the first post, if they were anything but Sonic games they would be rated at least 2* lower than they are. oh and I have played them all, I try no to speak without knowing what I'm talking about.
The last great Sonic game[s] where the GBA ones, they were excellent.
OK, seriously will people just STOP using "unleashed" on everything! It is NOT cool! It doesn't sound cool, it's not EXTREME, and it's not a saying that the youth of today are using in everyday conversations.

I liked Adventure quite a bit, actually...that's the game that sold me a Dreamcast. And Adventure 2 was okay, except for Tails being stuck in the stupid mech the entire game. It was only around the time of Heroes and Shadow that the franchise fell into decay, and then Next Gen Sonic the Hedgehog was the be-nailed baseball bat to the head for fans.
I've heard this game will be "2.5D" like the Rush games on DS, and those were pretty damn good if you ask me (Sonic's yet to have a bad handheld outing, really).
So, I remain cautiously optimistic.
looking at the screenshots it doens't look like a wii game... the graphics look like 360/ps3. if this is a 2.5 3-D game then i think this will help put sonic back on the map... and bless you whoever called "dr. eggman" dr. robotnik... i have HATED the name eggman... yes he looks like an egg blah blah blah and thats his original name in japan since sonic 1 blah blah blah but Dr. Robotnik is soooooooo much better of a name... no wonder they changed it to that for the North American Audience. (i don't know if it was robotnik as well in europe)
