Get ready for the battle of the IVs! The releases of Street Fighter IV and Soul Calibur IV are right around the corner, but which IV will be better? Street Fighter IV has all those new characters and graphics, but Soul Calibur IV has new characters too as well as updated graphics PLUS it has 50% more Soul Calibur! If you couldn't tell, I'm a big Soul Calibur man but if you only had enough cash to buy one or the other which one would it be? (Watch this teaser trailer before you decide!) Did I mention Yoda? Oh yeah and Darth Vader on the PS3...

I'm actually looking forward to Soul Calibur IV, and I'm not exactly the biggest fan of the franchise.
As for Street Fighter IV...ugh. I can barely stand watching it be played, so I dunno how actually playing it will work out.
I won't be rushing out to buy either one at release, but if I had to choose it would definitely be Soul Calibur IV, even with the atrocious addition of the Star Wars characters.
after playing Smash Bros, this reassures me that there are REAL Fighting games coming soon.
@ crithon: Smash Bros is more of a party game, flashy and twitchy and Soul Calibur is... well definitely getting more and more like DOA ;p but yeah I luv SC series, the only 3D weapon based fighter!
Star Wars characters in Soul Calibur?
Im telling you, this crap only happens on the Xbox360.
The Xbox360 version has Yoda, while the PS3 version has Darth Vader. So don't try to turn this into a console war, now. ;P
I'm not bothered by the guest characters anymore than I was bothered with them in Soulcalibur II.
I am bothered by the recently revealed new character Scheherazade to Soulcalibur IV, though, because she's a friggin' *elf*.

I dunno what all the fuss is about. Soul Calibur is an excellent series (III hurt my feelings when they screwed Talim so badly, but that aside...), and having a cross-over character from a different universe doesn't change that.

I still don't understand why people are complaining about Yoda and Darth Vader in the next Soul Caliber. When it was announced that Link would be in Soul Caliber 2 people pretty much wet themselves.
With every Soul Caliber installation, I give up on trying to master a character's moves because button mashing works just as well.
I can't wait for Street Fighter, but there's that scary possibility it could really suck. Chun Li has man hands.
I'll say, why not both?... but then SF IV's in 3d... and yoda is pretty cool...
