Take 2 Takes You Back 2 The Carnival
Hey, did you enjoy Carnival Games on the Wii? Well, I haven't had a chance to play it personally, but apparently a lot of other people have, since it's sold over a million copies so far. Well, now Take 2 is preparing to turn it into a franchise by bringing Carnival Games to the DS this summer, and announcing the all-new Carnival Games: Mini-Golf for the Wii arriving in the fall!
Having a carnival in my pocket could be fun, depending on how the touch controls play, but I'm actually kind of keen on a miniature golf game. I've always steered more towards the Hot Shots wacky style of golf game as opposed to Tiger Woods' realism. And they're promising dinosaurs, Wild West and treasure islands with pirates, so that could actually be kind of fun to swing a Wiimote at. Of course, the press release also describes it as "a hole in fun." Sigh. Listen, guys, let me make the bad jokes, okay?

Original Wii Version of Carnival Games Ships More Than One Million Copies

(NASDAQ: TTWO), today announced two new titles as a part of its brand extension strategy for its highly popular Carnival Games series. The new titles include Carnival Games for Nintendo DS, which is scheduled to ship this summer, and Carnival Games: Mini-Golf, an all-new game exclusive to the Wii home video game system, which will debut this fall. 2K Play is also announcing that its flagship Carnival Games title has reached a milestone of shipping more than one million units worldwide, while remaining a top-selling game with a number 5 ranking on the January 2008 NPD Wii chart.

Carnival Games for DS brings the fun of the original to the world's best-selling portable system during the summer vacation and travel season. This is good, because if there's any genre that's underrepresented on the Wii, it's minigame collections.

Carnival was a terrible derivative party game, 25 minigames was the only thing to offer, most of those were rehashes of 4 basic movements of the wiimote.
I had this as an accidental xmas present, Amazon sent my brother 3 copies rather than 1! No where around me stocked it so couldn't return the £30 abomination :'(
