Take That, Korea! No More Snaking In Mario Kart Wii

Remember back when snaking in a Mario Kart title required skill, and the inclusion of the ability could make or break a match? Remember when Nintendo announced online play for Mario Kart DS and snaking suddenly became the only way to win a match?
A portion of Official Nintendo Magazine UK's review of Mario Kart Wii reveals the boost mechanics to be a refreshing change for all of us who stink at speed-twitching through each track.
The second big difference (in Mario Kart Wii compared to the rest of the series) is the removal of snaking. Ever since the N64 game, practically every Mario Kart game has included the ability to get a speed boost by waggling the controls left and right as you powerslide. This has finally been scrapped, and now your speed boost is determined by how long you can hold the slide.

THANK GOD. I hate it when people do that in online matches. I'm all for drifting corners and using the boost that comes with it, but if someone starts snaking, I immediately turn off my DS. I'm not going to play someone when it's not a fair match.
Damn Koreans. No wonder they belong in the Axis of Evil.
Hooray! I suck at it, so I'm glad it's gone. No waggling sticks while driving, thank you very much.
oh thank god
I suppose I must have been one of those evil perpetrators because I wasn't aware there was a problem. Sorry guys.
Now, when they fix the computer AI on the hardest mode to refrain from power gaming, then I'll be happy (leading the pack by 10 or so seconds for the first two laps, and then being blue shelled, super starred, and shocked to hell during the final lap and coming in sixth isn't fun or fair).
