Video: Celebrate Easter With Gaming's First Easter Egg

Happy Easter all! Everybody loves Easter Eggs and even if you don't celebrate the holiday, you know you love them in games! Easter Eggs are a long standing game tradition dating all the way back to the earliest days of the industry. Today we celebrate by bringing you this nifty little piece from Gametrailers showing the very first easter Egg in the Atari 2600s sword and sorcery masterpiece, Adventure!

You know, it's odd. Watching that, I don't feel "nostalgic". I feel old.

I had a 2600 as a kid. It was expensive; it took everything I made on the paper route to avoid it (which is a nice way of saying that my parents earned it, carting me around in the back of the car because it was raining, or snowing, or Sunday).

I sucked horifically. I never saw the easter egg. Hell, I never made sense of the game at all. I don't think I got *anywhere*; or if I did, I certainly don't remember.

Maybe it required more sophistication than I had as a kid that young. I can't even really remember how old I was. Or, maybe I just sucked at games.

Someone put me out of my misery and tell me how hard the game was. Lie to me, you know you want to. ;)

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
