Video: The Real Reason The DS Was Made, Korg DS-10!
I'm a complete tool for synth software. Seriously, it is a problem. As much as I like junking out on it I am, however, musically inept. Sure I can play from sheet music but ask me to compose something and you'll probably get some mutation of chopsticks in loop for a few minutes. I can dream though.
Korg DS-10 was designed to let budding musicians (and general audiophiles) compose on the go, so to speak. Thankfully, it appears that it's no longer just a Japanese release, as mentioned in this Korg DS-10 Blog post:
Hi there! my name is Tomi from AQI Inc.and I'll be in charge of this product for international territories. For those of you out there wondering the release of DS-10 other than Japan, well, here's a good news. YES, we will release DS-10 worlwide and currently we're making an adjustment with each territory. So please be patient. Your support means a lot to us and we'll keep you all with the latest update of the international release as soon as possible.
Considering the amount of money I shelled out for a copy of Electroplankton, I'm sure it is not a big stretch to think that I'll be buying this the second it get localized. Who knows, I may get impatient and import it.

Wow. Frelling wow.
That's going to be pure crack. I can already see riding the BART to work and playing with that the entire way. The trick will be remembering to get off at my stop.
Yeah, I'll be spending some quality time with this in my car after work (I like to read or play DS games to unwind before the drive.) But I was already going to import it anyway.
I loved how he added a synthesizer halfway through with a SCRIBBLE!
