Weekly XBLA Update - 03/26/08
In addition to an update for Switchball, TeamXbox.com's downloadable game of the year for 2007, today sees the arrival of TiQal a quirkily-capitalized puzzle game inspired by ancient Mayans but built by the folks at Slapdash Games. Given the rash of boardgame crossovers, I almost thought this one was Tikal, but alas it is not. TiQal challenges you to destroy enemy fortifications by matching blocks and, surprise, blowing them up.
Sporting 120 levels, 14 power ups as well as local of via-LIVE multiplayer support, TiQal costs 800 MP.
This Monday saw the arrival of Dreamfall: Game of the Year Edition to Xbox Originals, as well, for a slender 1200 MP.
Two new themes join the Xbox 360 family as well: FIFA Street 3 and Harold & Kumar 2, the latter of which would be funny if it weren't also sad.
As for trailers, you'll see a new Gears of War 2 vid as well as a video of... Samsung? Yay, Samsung!?!?
There's no new DLC unless you live in Asian territories, in which case アイドルマスター ライブフォーユー！ is a game you should be all about, whatever it may be. Although the Halo 3 Heroic Map Pack is now free, which may count as new to some.
In TiQal, you have been chosen to make an epic journey through many obstacles to seek the help of the gods. The village of TiQal is in deep trouble! Destroy the block walls in your way by moving your magic Dropper left and right, rotating blocks, and dropping them into place to create squares of color. Build up multiple squares to score bonus points and unlock helpful power-ups. Do you have the skill and courage to complete your quest and save TiQal from certain destruction?
