Atlus has sent along some screens for their upcoming "hardcore action RPG", Baroque. I was initially pretty excited for this game when I saw the original character art. Names like The Horned Girl, The Coffin Man and The Cursebringer Angel and their attendant creepy characters made me really curious as to what it would be like. After seeing these screens I found myself slightly less interested yet still somewhat intrigued. It will coming out for the PS2 and Wii so as you can imagine, the graphics aren't quite what one expects from games these days. It also seems very olde schoole RPG which will certainly appeal to a certain group but might alienate some others (like me) who have a hard time with the older style of gameplay. That said I'll still give it a go when it comes out because I adore Atlus and I really want to see exactly what the character Fist is all about. What? He has an upside down parasitic twin head on his chest. How can you go wrong?

yes because all the games coming out for the x-box 360 and ps3 are just perfect and so jaw droopingly different that it is just sad to see anything else.
why is good graphics synonymous with 'I can see the tattoo of "I like pussy" on some character's dick in an FPS"?
Good graphics are not about overhyped detail. they are about style and flair. Maybe if some of these companies spent more time worrying about game play instead of worrying about being able to see that a character double knots his shoelaces, we'd have better games to play.

My PS2 has got to be the single most played last gen console system that I own. With games like Mana Khemia, Persona 3:FES, and SNK Arcade Classics, the PS2's longevity continues to astound.

I'm most likely purchasing this title as well. Of course the graphics are definately not going to be as strong as games being developed for this current generation of systems but really I'm not a graphics whore I'm a gamer. Persona 3 is on the PS2 and while there are a huge list of games more stunning than Persona 3 it's still a solid game. Having beautiful graphics doesn't insure good game play.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
