GTA IV Is Gonna Be A Record-Breaker

Well, it's coming at midnight tonight, and as the gaming world holds its collective breath waiting for the release of Grand Theft Auto IV, Guinness World Records has its eye on the game's release to see if it sets any more records. The franchise has been setting records since the release of the seminal GTA III, so expect the latest in the series to do the same. What kind of records has it set?
GTA III holds the records for First Full "Sandbox" Action Adventure and Biggest Selling Game of 2001. GTA: Vice City set Biggest Selling Game of 2002 and Best-Selling PlayStation 2 Game Of All Time. GTA: Liberty City Stories was the Best-Selling PSP Game Of All Time. GTA: San Andreas had the Largest In-Game Soundtrack and Largest Voice Cast In A Videogame. And the entire franchise holds the record for Most Guest Stars In A Videogame Series.
The ones with the guest stars and voice cast aren't that big of a deal, but the sales records are kind of impressive. Especially considering how huge the PS2 was in its day. And I have no doubt that GTA IV will be bigger than huge. I've got my copy pre-ordered at my local GameStop, and I went over there this evening to make sure I was all pre-paid so I can just get my game and go without having to wait too long at midnight. Hopefully. Then I can run home and pop it into my 360 and see if GTA IV can set the record for Biggest Time-Suck of 2008! Whee!

I find the record for the PSP GTA game to be funny, given that if you ever look for used PSP for sale on Craig's List or eBay, the GTA PSP game is by far the most common to be listed alongside it. Makes sense now.
I CAN'T WAIT...I ordered mine so it'll arrive hopefully tomorrow...this game looks amazing...IGN gave it 10 out 10... XPlay gave it 5 out of 5...I think it'll be amazing. Yipeee!!!
Hooray, going for it soon, I won't go to a midnight launch, I'm not quite that socially inept yet.
The most important game of the year, and evidently the best, finally something in 2008 that will live up to the hype.
Since I live only two blocks away from a GameCrazy and I have the day off from work, I decided to pick up my copy at midnight.
First thing I thought to myself while walking across the parking lot: "Damn, there's way more people here for GTAIV than the Halo 3 midnight release." There had to be at least twice (maybe three times) the amount of people waiting outside the store tonight. Hell, I even bought MarioKart Wii the other night at midnight and there was only six people at the most.
As for my personal thoughts (so far) regarding GTAIV? This game is all that and a bag of chips...with the dip...
