How Many Hours Have You Put Into Gaming?

I think it's fair to say that most of us spend a fair amount of time playing games. Even if you only pick up a controller a few days a week, the hours add up over an extended period of time. Being a game journalist I don't have the time to put in the hours it takes to play a full RPG anymore, but I remember a time when I put in 80+ hours into Chrono Cross without blinking.
So, my question to you is this. What is the most hours you've ever put into a single game. And I don't mean MMOs here, I'm talking pure console goodness and if you played a game multiple times, that adds to the count too. But, please don't hold us responsible when you come to the horrible realization that you've wasted spent a year of your life playing Final Fantasy VI over and over again.

I don't know what the hour count was, but it took me 4 years to beat Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Granted I picked it up and put it down a lot, but it was still a staggering length of time.
I would say I have played through Final Fantasy IV, in all of its forms, probably five times. Once on the GBA, once on the PlayStation, and at least three times on the SNES.
If I estimate each playthrough to take 30 hours, then I have logged in 150 hours on Final Fantasy IV alone during my life. I expect this number to increase significantly when the DS remake drops on July 22.
The only game that probably comes close is Chrono Trigger, which I've probably logged around 100 hours on over the course of several playthroughs.
I logged 140 hours into FFXII. The hunts took a lot of time.
Usually it takes me 40 - 60 hours to get through a game.
I've beaten Zelda: OoT many of times... it would take me... let's say 60 hours... so.... 300+ hours? i guess.
I've logged over 110 hours each in Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy VIII and Dragon Warrior VII...but that was in my younger years xD
I think I have like 80 in my Pokemon Pearl too :-\
I spend a good 100+ hours in any given RPG that I enjoy. That includes FF12, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, FFVI, etc. I've also spent about 300+ hours in various Pokemon games and a good 300 hours in FFTA alone. I've also spent probably all that time put together in the Harvest Moon games. Man. That's a lot of hours.
Final Fantasy Tactics I have logged well into 300 hours, I have three DIFFERENT 70 hour files alone, where I started learning to tweak stats. (this was back before I had 'net for Gamefaqs.) good lord the abuses I piled upon my Playstation for that game. seeing the varied effects of how levelling as X jobs caused Y results. I heart that game so much.
I also have a 80 hour file for Final Fantasy IV (SNES) where I maxed out levels, duplicated insane amounts of equipment, and happened to stumble upon the Bomb summon. Further, this is not counting the myriad of replays I did of that game. I'm shocked Final Fantasy VI didn't leave my SNES a melted pile of plastic, I played it so much.
Embarassing enough to say, I spent around 300+ hours on Final Fantasy Tatics... I say plus because I only remember playing it about 5 or 6 times through, it was probably more :D. And 007 Goldeneye, over hte years my friends and I have racked up well over 500 hours on that one together... Don't even ask me about Smash Bros. Melee, I couldn't count the hours spent on that one X.x
I know I have spent more than 75+ hours on Oblivion, but if someone was keeping record, I don't think that would be in my top ten, of games I have spent the most time playing. The top five of that list would probably go:
1)Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries
2)Super Mario World
3)Geometry Wars
4)Theme Park (Bullfrog)
5)Doom
Around 120 on one of many play throughs of FF7. Also I've probably beaten Ocarina of Time at least 20 times so more than my fair share there...
Pokemon Yellow was the first game I really put alot of time into, I spent well over 50 hours on one game (before my sister overwrote it >:(, eight years on and the grudge still remains), and after that one I spent hours on shorter games, probably 10 hours max, overall I've probably put in around 150 hours of gameplay on that little cartridge.
Saying that the most time I've spent on a game would have to be Oblivion, 600 hours on my main character (yes, 600, I would link a screen shot, but it's on my 360), 120 on another, 50 on another one, and 20 on three or four, plus many hours on short lived games, which probably would add up into hundreds of hours. I've had the game since launch, and I have no Idea why I tried to convince myself that I still thought that it's a good game.
I still play it occasionaly.
Others top play times would be:
Black & White (I don't have figures for that, but I bet it's a hell of a lot).
KotOR I & II, 7 play throughs between them, around 30 hours each.
Dawn of War (and expansions), no idea on the figures for this one either.
151 hours in pokemon diamond ):
I've had so many lost hours playing through the different iterations of Phantasy Star Online.
Equally time consuming has been the different versions of Panel de Pon/Tetris attack
well, i played through and beat fantastic four in one sitting. started at like 6pm and beat it at 9am the next morning. pathetic i know. the game was terrible.
also i put in at LEAST 6hrs at night in Kingdom Hearts 2 on sun, mon, tue, wed and thur night. and on fri and saturday night, i played from night to day at about 15-20hrs each day. and that happend for about 2-3weeks.
[(6 x 5)x 3] + [(20 x 2)x 3]= about 210
plus i beat it a couple of other times [meaning like 8 more times. lol]. also beat sephorith and all the tournements. so thats an extra 50-90 hours at least.
soo, all together about 300hrs total.
As a WoW addict, it's no surprise that I've spent a lot of time on there. Not as much as some, I guess, but I'd still wager over the course of close to a year and a half I've logged about.....500 hours? Seems about right, considering how many characters I've created and deleted...
But that aside, I've probably invested the same amount in Final Fantasy Tactics, I spent about 200 hours in Disgaea.... Now I need to tally this crap up, hold on...
World of Warcraft - 500+
Fnal Fantasy Tactics - 500+
Disgaea - 200+
Final Fantasy X-2 (Shaddap..) - 150+
Final Fantasy VII - 200+
Final Fantasy VIII - 100+
Armored Core (All versions) - 200+
Soul Calibur II - 300+
Elder Scrolls IV - 100+
Warriors Orochi - 150+
Samurai Warriors (1 & 2, XL, etc.) - 150+
Faxanadu - 100+
Secret of Mana - 150+
Castlevania SoTN - 250+
So that's just over 3000 hours for THOSE titles alone... That doesn't include the massive library I've got for everything else.... Probably well over about 7000 hours for everything I've ever played....
I think I need therapy now..
Well after looking at my pokemon saves... the longest I've spent on Ruby was 215 hours. Thats the one I've played the most. Then theres all ther other versions, each with about 70 hours each.
So with pokemon alone... about 1000 hours.
I've played approx 800 hours if not much more on World Of War Craft.
And that with around 400 games in my collection. Lets call that a miserly 20 hours per game.
So we're looking at around 10,000 hours. Thats approx 416 days solid game play in my 23 years of game playing...
but that doesnt include all the games Ive sold/traded/borrowed. So you may be looking at a few more hours... or should I say months?!?!?
Anyone got some spare change so I can buy a life??
... but actually come to think of it. If all I've said is true and fairly accurate that means Ive spent approx 5% of those years of gaming actually playing games. so thats approx 1Hr and 12Mins a day. lol come to think of it, thats not that bad.
The most times I've spent on games would hafta be:
1. FFIX - 5 saves of 30 hours+ each = 150+ hours
2. FFX - 1 save of 130 hours
:3
God where to start. I began gaming around25 years ago, hours upon hours on Atari-Pac Man. I stopped counting the NES games I finished, at about 256. I put over 100+ hours on FF3 (SNES), I leveled all of my people to 99 & everyone (who could) got all their magic. FF Tactics? Probably 3 - 4 hundred hours. Lets just say FF (& its various offshoots) have taken thousands of hours of my life. My latest biggie would be Oblivion, I have 186 hours & I haven't even closed 1 Gate yet & I don't have any of the expansions either. Pokemon would be another time eater, as well as the Zelda's & Mario's. Metroid's. Dragon Quest's. Lunar's. Rpgs in general. FPS's & action also.
There are 8760 hours in a year, so I've probably spent at the very least 4 years gaming, easy.
It's hard to know where to start. Like many of my fellow gamers here I must have spent an age playing Secret of Mana. Theme Hospital is definately up there too. Baldaurs Gate I+II must have sucked some of my life out of me as well. And let's not forget the hours upon hours I spent playing Arcanum!
Two years ago I set out to "beat" Tetris DS. After Level 20, the speed doesn't increase anymore.
In a day and a half on the same game, I had the lines maxed out at 999 Lines.
After 3 days, the Level stopped increasing at Level 999.
It took about 6 days to max out the score at 99,999,999 points.
I kept the DS plugged in the whole time to make sure the game was saved, and would simply close the system to put it in sleep mode when I wasn't playing. Sadly, there's a bug in the game that it won't record a high score after a certainn point.
300 hours on Pokemon Pearl... Non-gamer friends are somewhat less impressed than I would have hoped.
I spent scores of hours playing Viva Piñata through to the "end" (level 108) under my partner's gamertag, before I realized he'd turned me into a gamer. So of course, once I got my own gamertag and Xbox Live gold account, I started replaying VP to earn the achievements for myself. Even with well-stocked gardens to raid from my partner's account, there's still a bunch of game left to be replayed. This used to seem a bit excessive to me, but after reading all the previous posts, I can see that I have yet to approach the great heights/depths to which OCD gaming can go!
I've put more than 200 hours into each FFVII, FFVIII, and FFX, maxing out each game getting the best materia/weapons/gf levels, etc.
I've put about 150 hours into FFXII.
If we're talking about one 24 period, I once spend 16 hours in the same spot playing FFIX, just so I could say that I'd finished it.
