LucasArts Adventure Game Trivia-dump

Sci-Fi blog io9 has a pretty comprehensive, relatively chronological breakdown of some random facts and history of the golden age of LucasArts adventure game titles. Fans of Maniac Mansion, Escape From Monkey Island, or any of those classic titles might want to take a look-see, get all teary eyed and nostalgic, and then sigh. Folks who have no idea what they missed can also check it out, although it probably won't help you figure out why the rest of us are all sitting around sighing about non-hentai tentacles and grim reapers with Mexican accents.
With the (apparent) success of Sam and Max, I'm a little surprised we haven't seen more of these franchises revitalized, but maybe I'm speaking a little too soon. After all, Splatterhouse is coming back, proving franchises never really die, they just hibernate until some gullible optimistic producer thinks they can make a few bucks from them again. Maybe after WiiWare launches, or when the iPhone starts getting some real games, we'll hear about some of these again.

Ask me about LOOM(TM)!
I'm with Claire. Clearly there is not enough Loom Love. I would perform unspeakable acts for a sequel to it.
