Mario Kart Wii Revving Up For Launch Event

Everyone knows Mario Kart Wii is heading into stores on Sunday, April 27, but if you live in the New York City area, you can get your hands on the game a day early if you swing by the Nintendo World Store in Rockefeller Center. From 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, fans can get a sneak-peek at the game, with the opportunity to get their grubby mitts around one of those Wii Wheels. (Presumably to decided whether or not the hunk of plastic really makes it easier to play the game)
There will also be a Mario Kart Wii competition for prizes, and Nintendo-themed giveaways as well as special premiums like Mario Kart driver's licenses. So the usual Nintendo World launch party hoo-ha, then. Fun! Oh, and while the press release says you can get a "sneak peek" at the game on Saturday, it also reminds that the official debut in stores is on Sunday. So I can't say with 100% certainty that you will be able to buy it early like they sometimes do (like with Phantom Hourglass). Regardless, I'll be there covering the mayhem as I usually do. Stop by, won't you?

Why's Pac-Man in that picture? Is that a noob question? Did I miss something?
The picture is taken from Mario Kart Arcade Grand Prix (1 or 2). Pacman, Mrs. Pacman, and Blinky (as well as a Tamagotchi in part 2) were playable characters in the arcade version - as it was published by Namco.
Pretty game, but the tracks weren't anything to write home about.
