SCEE: Some PS2 And PSP Online Game Servers To Be Axed

Unraveled Ethernet Cables

The sad part about online gaming environments is that they tend to have a limited life-span. As this usually happens, I am late to adopt a game, and just as I feel as if I'm mastering it, the online portion succumbs to expiration. It should then come to no surprise that with a full roster of things to do, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has released a list of Playstation 2 and Playstation Portable titles that will see their online components stripped as of June 30 of this year.

PS2 Games

Amplitude
Destruction Derby Arenas
Everybody's Golf
EyeToy Chat
F1 '04
Jak X
Lemmings PS2
My Street
Syphon Filter Omega Strain
This is Football 2004
This is Football 2005
Twisted Metal: Black Online

PSP Games

Lemmings
World Tour Soccer 2

While nothing on this list inspires as much dread as, say, Resident Evil: Outbreak, Chu Chu Rocket! or Phantasy Star Online, it is always sad to see dynamic gaming elements fade into the ether.
