Roundup: Namco-Bandai Editor Day

This week our San Francisco-based correspondents, Fruit Brute and lovely newcomer PixelPoet, embarked on a series of game-heavy media days. The boys cleaned up with quite a lot of notable info, and we want to make sure you've got it all!
We'll start with Namco-Bandai, where PixelPoet got the scoop on both Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World and Tales of Vesperia. Symphonia: Dawn of the New World is headed to the Wii as a sequel to the previous Symphonia title, while Tales of Vesperia, coming to the 360 (and maybe PS3) is one of the first few hand-drawn high-def RPGs around - Eternal Sonata fans may find themselves on familiar, glorious ground.
Next up, the Poet found Afro Samurai, headed to the PS3 and Xbox 360 and based on the Samuel L. Jackson-voiced show of the same name. True to form, Sam is back to voice the game (which is great - that guy will do anything), which sports a look that manages to be both gritty and cell-shaded. Music by RZA and CJ Chuy Gomez brings the hip-hop sounds you'd expect, and what's more - the combat paces itself to the beat. Excited to see how that works!
Lastly we've got Soul Calibur IV, of which there's been no shortage of footage, commentary, or expectation. We did get one new, important tidbit: a release date. Expect to get violent with Yoda or Vader (and me) on July 29, 2008.
