Siren Lives Again On The PS3: Siren: New Translation

I'm a survival horror buff, so when Siren came out I'm pretty sure I was the first person in my town to snatch it off the shelf. Cut to a few hours later and I was scratching my head and trying to figure out what the heck was going on. I didn't get the whole psychic stealth thing, and the weird photo realistic faces creeped me out. Needless to say I didn't invest much time in the game.

There was a rumor running around that it was getting a sequel, and it is only actually half true. Siren: New Translation is a remake being for the PS3. It features an international voice cast, updated graphics and what appears to be more action oriented game play.

Hey, I'll try anything once, maybe twice. Maybe it will actually make more sense to me this time around.

I'm glad I'm not the only survival horror fan that didn't get Siren. I say I disliked it to other people and you'd think my skin turned green.
This looks like a huge improvement. :)

I don't understand why people didn't like Siren. It was very hard but I thought it was amazing. One of my favorite games. The story was excellent and I love the way the story fits together like a puzzle, out-of-order, creating loads of tension. I much preferred it to the Fatal Frame series.

There is a Siren 2 but it was only released in Japan and Europe. It makes me crazy b/c I want to play it so badly!

Has this PS3 version been confirmed for US? I hope so!!

Unfortunately, I am also another survival horror fan that just could not get into "Siren." I got what it was about, but the gameplay just did not do it for me. Maybe I had false expectations in the game as I wanted another "Fatal Frame" of sorts. One of these days, I'll play it again and see what made me stopped playing it even though I personally found the concept truly intriguing.

I f-ing loved Siren. Too bad the movie was crap and the sequel didn't come out in the US...

I am a huge fan of Siren even though it was pretty damn hard and had a bunch of other flaws. The feel of the game (especially how the levels kinda come together) really grabbed me.

With that said, the clips shown from this New Translation don't seem to have a whole lot to do with Siren. Maybe the character models changed, but it looks like this will be a cool Siren experience.

Also, I was quite sad when Siren II never came out in the US, but I guess Europe has to win things we lose sometimes :(
