Square Enix To Gain A Soul

souleater.gif

...Eater, and by that I mean that big shot, long time jRPG maker Square Enix is working on a Wii game based on the manga series Soul Eater. This news, brought to us by Kotaku, comes from the pages of Famitsu Weekly as scanned by juexfrance.com. The complete title of the game is Soul Eater:Monotone Princess. No real news yet on what exactly the game will entail, but news of the game seems to have coincided with the debut of the anime version of the series which started last week in Japan. I know most most people are mainly waiting to see the sexiness that will hopefully be Final Fantasy XIII but it is good see Square Enix continue to branch out to new properties like The World Ends with You and now Soul Eater, speaking of which it's time for me to munch on some cactuar cookies and wash it all down with a Final Fantasy potion. Yes, I sold my soul to Square... they are eating them after all (tastes like burning).

This does look a lot like TWEWY. As much as I like them branching out in new ways, this style just screams "survey group concept". Maybe being an otaku means I'm oversaturated with cutsey, fashionably-hip anime characters, but that does seem to be the meat of Squeenix's new direction.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
