Take 2 Takes Mad Doc Software

maddoclogo.JPG

Rockstar Games announced today that they will be forming Rockstar New England now that they've acquired themselves the Massachusetts-based Mad Doc Software.

"The team at Mad Doc Software is extremely talented," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "Bringing them within the Rockstar Games family will enhance our core technology and further support our commitment to creating progressive and innovative gaming experiences."

Before being rechristened Rockstar New England, Mad Doc was responsible for games like Empire Earth: The Art of Conquest, Empire Earth II, Star Trek: Legacy, and most recently, the 360 port of Rockstar's Bully. (Hm. Guess Rockstar wasn't bothered by the bugs, then)

"To be a part of Rockstar Games is an amazing opportunity for everyone here," said Dr. Davis, Studio Head of the new Rockstar New England. "We're eager to bring our expertise to bear in the character-driven, open-world stories that make Rockstar Games titles so uniquely compelling."

Unfortunately, Rockstar's announcement doesn't mention any specific titles to be developed by Rockstar New England. The announcement is basically just about the acquisition. But hopefully they'll continue Rockstar's successful run.

Watch them end up being a port house for all the games other Rockstar studios don't want to work on. After all the Bully bugs and lack luster additions, why would T2 want this studio?

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
