UT3 Owners May Get A Gears 2 "Surprise"

So you won't be getting a Gears of War 2 demo. They've got other things to do! Of course, that doesn't mean that Epic is too busy to use their cash cow to promote their other franchises. Mark Rein, Vice-President of Epic, hinted that fans who buy the Xbox 360 version of Unreal Tournament 3 can expect a little something extra.
[Y]ou know, there might be a little Gears Of War 2 related surprise on the disc of Unreal Tournament 3. That's all I'm saying about that.
Adding that we'll be hearing more "soon," Rein declined any further specifics. So if we rule out a demo or multiplayer beta (which seems like it would also take up a lot of development time), my guess would be either Gears 2 specific maps or Marcus Fenix and Locust character models for the game. Neat, but nothing to wet your pants about, especially since someone will probably figure out how to get these onto the PS3 without too much trouble, considering the more open mod environment surrounding it.

there are already these character mods for the PS3 version of UT3.
granted, they're user created, but lord knows if the official ones would be that different....
You're thinking to high... I'm guessing it'll be a new trailer or something, like the Left4Dead trailer on Orange Box.
Nate: I considered the idea it would be a video, and I agree there's a good chance it's just a new trailer. However, the fact that the minute the game hits stores (and probably even before) any new trailer will be up on YouTube, Gamevideos, and Gametrailers, it wouldn't be much of a value add and wouldn't attract a ton of Gears fans.
Considering how easy it would be for them to add a Marcus model to multiplayer games (as DJFluke mentioned, it's already happened for PC/PS3 gamers, albeit in an unofficial manner), I think it's just about as likely as a pretty new trailer, and would also help to gloss over the fact that the game won't allow user created content at all.
Marcus' last name is spelled Fenix =X
other than that, I look forward to seeing what goodies we will get on the UT3 disc ^^
Tony: Ah, you're so right. Damn those homophonic allusions.
