Video: Johnny Lee Hits The Big Time
There's no new Johnny Lee Wii-racles in this video, although you do get to see him demonstrate his two most talked about Wii Remote tricks - the simulated touch screen and the head tracking remote - in a setting other than his living room. In a speech for the TED Conference (Technology, Entertainment, Design), you can hear the chuckles and wows that are missing from his adorkably awkward YouTube clips. Speaking of that, Johnny's got some high praise for the video sharing sites, at least with regard to how much they've affected his own research.
YouTube has really changed the way, or changed the speed, in which a single individual can spread an idea around the world. You know, I'm just a researcher in my lab with a video camera and within the first week, a million people had seen this work, and literally within days, engineers, teachers, and students from around the world were already posting their own YouTube videos of them using my system or derivatives of this work.
Yeah. Plus kittens!

I've seen the head tracking video before, but it was really cool to see a bunch of (presumably) smart people getting excited about it.
