IGN's The Legend of Zelda Movie Trailer

zeldamovie.jpg

Those cheeky wags have the fanboys drooling with their entry into the April Fool's game today. They have posted an admittedly amazing trailer for a fictional Legend of Zelda movie that is set to come out on April 1 of next year. I have to say, for a joke, it's really REALLY well done. Color me impressed!

Unfortunately, the embed code for the actual video isn't working so you will have to leave the warmth and comfort of our site to view it. Enjoy!

That was pretty freakin' awesome!

Why can't Nintendo get the crew that made this trailer to actually make a real movie?!

Seriously! Zelda has the story elements to be made into a fantastic set of films. Of course it could easily be turned hokey if Ganondorf or Sheik turned out like they did in this presentation, but still - that trailer looks pretty sweet for a joke.

Ganon looked stupid and Link was ugly.

I hope they never make this movie. Ever.

Why did Link have raggety hair? Zelda looked wayy too pale and Ganon looked like he was wearing makeup instead of it looking like his skin. They could have found better people.

Wasn't bad at all for an April Fool's joke. If you IMDB the Actor playing Link though it is the actor, who actually has a resume... The fan in me says maybe it could happen although the realist in me says not so much.

I think Link is kind of hot!

I wish this weren't a joke! I got chills from the first second I heard the music.

hahaha, I think the criticism of the trailer as not well produced or acted is simply hilarious! It's a April Fool's joke and something that will never get produced. In that light, I think the production value is pretty damn good! Very college senior project-esque for sure, but much better than the regular You Tube fray of video.

... and yes, I would like Link to be hotter. Kthxbai.

Oh my, that was ridiculous, but it is fantastic what technology allows amateurs to do. I'm with above on chills, though. The editing is what makes the trailer work, though they really could have had more people fooled if they'd kept it at teaser length. Looking too long at bad wigs and makeup gives one time to realize that a Japanese video game movie wouldn't be live action or produced in English.

I agree. Fake Link is a woofer. Awroooooooo. :( I think the flight attendant needs to check those bags under his eyes.

But it was very well produced, I thought.
