A Few More Details On Strong Bad's Cool Game For Awesome People

sbcg4ap.jpg

I posted a video of some gameplay of Telltale Games' upcoming Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People for the Nintendo Wii and PC yesterday, and now I've received a press release with a few more details about the episodic game. The first episode is entitled "Homestar Ruiner" and allows the player to put himself in Strong Bad's boxing gloves and wrestling mask and kicks off a typical day in his life. You'll answer E-mails, play videogames and pummel your enemies. Strong Bad's scheme to win the tri-annual Race to the End of the Race involves Homestar Runner, who you must find a way to get rid of. Easier said than done!

I'd hoped there would be more to the gameplay than selecting dialogue options, and that would seem to be the case. Yes, you're basically playing an extended Homestar Runner cartoon, but in addition to the main plot, they're promising achievements and side activities like the Videlectrix arcade classic Snake Boxer 5 and the ability to create your own "Teen Girl Squad" comics. Seriously? I mean, it's a shame we can't play Peasant Quest, but being able to create my own "Teen Girl Squad" adventures is totally awesome fan service. I appreciate that they're including some extras since the episodes themselves might not have too much replay value. At least since they're episodic, they might not cost too terribly much.

I also enjoyed the end of the press release where they typically include descriptions of the companies involved in whatever is being created and they included this:

About Videlectrix

Since the beginning of organized time, or shortly thereafter, the 'Trix, as they are sometimes known, has been at all four fronts of the electronic video gaming industry, providing lo-res entertainment to parents and children alike. In the early years, The Big V, as they are othertimes known, got their start by typing numbers into calculators and then turning the calculators upside down to form words. In 2003, they partnered with Homestarrunner.com and released the arcade peasant-masher Trogdor! They've since followed up with hit after hit, including next-gen text adventure Peasant's Quest, side scrolling platformer Stinkoman 20X6, and the unforgettable Color Television Calibration Cartridge. Vid'rix looks forward to working with Telltale Games and finding out just exactly what it is they do.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
