Bread, Bowling & Booze!

The ever-popular social director here at Gay Gamer Castle, NYDan83, put together quite the blowout on Friday night in the Big Apple. And for those who came, there was even a special treat as our esteemed Fruit Brute was in town and was able to join us! First came bread (pizza, really), then came bowling, then came booze. Although there was booze with the bowling, too, but let's not be picky.
I've got a whole rundown of the night with a gallery of photos for you to enjoy after the jump, but I'll tell you what the heck Dan's doing up there now. That was his expression after they shut down our lanes when our time ran out. Denied!
The evening began over at Redstone Pizzeria on NYC's Upper East Side where a group of us gathered to grab a bite to eat before downing large quantities of alcohol. I kept waiting for them to ask us to leave because we were taking up most of their tables, and hadn't ordered anything in a while, but they didn't. Once we'd all eaten, everyone headed over to Leisure Time Bowling over in the Port Authority. The music was a little too loud, and not always that great in the beginning, but eventually the annoying DJ played some better songs. We were pleasantly surprised when our server came over and turned out to be a cute gay boy (how did they know?). And best of all, we had reserved three lanes, and each one came with its own tower of beer!
The gang split up to fill the three lanes and everyone pretty much proved why we should stick to Wii Bowling. Well, except for Grainer, who turned out to be a bit of a ringer, nearly breaking 200 in one of his games. I thought perhaps drinking more beer would improve my game, but it didn't really work as well as I'd hoped. When 11:00 rolled around, they shut us down, and we had to move on. There was still quite a bit of beer left, and not wanting to let it go to waste, I chugged an entire pint because I thought we were leaving. But we weren't. We stayed and hung out for a bit while everyone polished off what beer was left. Wish I'd known, because I'm getting far too old to be chugging beers.
Our next stop was Posh, which looks like it might be a nice gay bar if it wasn't so completely and utterly overcrowded. I'm sure we were over the legal limit. A few people ventured across the street to Therapy, and although I wasn't one of them, they reported back that there was a lot more space over there. Too much space, really, as it wasn't as popular as Posh. But we braved the crowd and lasted all night. I finally gave up at 3am, but I know I left quite a sizable group behind. No idea what time any of them went home!
I want to thank Eric, Jument, Extra Gay Pain, Mopus Box, Acedian, Rcarlino, Nio, Grainer, KazeX, Shadowship, BubbleBobbleBoy, JazeErazee, LilmikeNYC, Rickfu and Rubeezy for coming, (screen names to protect the innocent... and the guilty!) as well as anyone else whose name somehow didn't make it on that list. Oh, and Peter, from gaymer.org, made a cameo. But especially Dan for organizing the whole gathering. (I know I wouldn't have had the patience to do it!) Enjoy the gallery below chug three beers before viewing, and you'll feel like you're really there!
