Castle Crashers Is "Completely Completed," But You Still Can't Play It Yet

In his newest devblog for his upcoming XBLA game Castle Crashers, Dan Paladin announced that the game is "completely completed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" The extra exclamation points mean he's seriously serious.
I feel really great about how the final product has come out after playing through a few times last night. I'm very proud of what our team was able to accomplish. This game is undoubtedly the largest 360 XBLA game that has any kind of story; Large in scope, takes hours and hours to go through with your buddies. Lots of little treasures and secrets hiding around the levels, many unlockable characters all with a different feel, and lastly, no real weak spots in the game that I can foresee haunting me for the rest of my life.
He goes on to warn gamers that they shouldn't expect the game to show up in the next XBLA update, however, as the game now has to go through the tap dancing and hoop jumping that is Microsoft's certification process. Still, the news means no more (significant) delays, and although there's no release date, if you keep your fingers crossed the game should hit your hard drives by the end of the summer.
Paladin also released three screenshots from the game, and you can see them in the gallery below. The first looks to be a character select screen, the next depicts "danger in the dreaded ice arena," and the last is "war in the bear village." The last one sounds really familiar - I won't get into specifics, but let's just say you don't want to be at some parties when the raspberry vodka runs out.

I wonder whether the online portion will require a gold account. Don't think it would be fair. That said, I had a lot of fun with castle crashing - the beard on newgrounds, which contains some of the games artwork. Go ahead & try it.
