Celebrites Hawk New DS Color
Nintendo released the Metallic Rose DS as part of a Nintendogs bundle, but I suppose since most people probably already had the game (I know I did), they're finally releasing the color on its own starting Monday, May 19. And they've got some celebrities to help sell the thing. Ugly Betty herself, America Ferrera will be appearing in commercials for the shady pink DS as well as American Idol Carrie Underwood. They're also doing a new commercial for the Crimson/Black DS with Liv Tyler, of all people.
It's always funny to me to see commercials with celebrities playing videogames, because more often than not, I seriously doubt these people even play with the free one they no doubt get to take home with their paycheck at the end of the day. I could imagine America Ferrera playing a DS maybe, and possibly Liv Tyler. But Carrie Underwood? That's almost as silly as the one where we were supposed to believe Nicole freakin Kidman actually plays Brain Age. Shyeah, right!
Still, this is actually kind of a cool color scheme, and if I was a little more comfortable in my masculinity (and didn't already own the awesome Crimson/Black one), I'd consider picking this one up. It's a little more subtle than the bright pink one. Anybody interested?

GOD DAMMIT! I was the only person at PAX with the Metallic Rose DS last year, and now every little bitch and there mom is gonna have it! Fuck you Carrie Underwood!
I'm thinking of getting one for one of my girlfriends. I would have gotten this one for myself if I could have, but instead, I have the Crimson and Black one. Which is cool, since, like, noone else in Australia has it. :)
