E3 Keynote: Texas Gov Rick Perry

Awww yeah, Republican Governors in da house!
The ESA announced that Texas Governor Rick Perry will be whipping E3 attendees such as myself into a fury later this summer with a blockbuster keynote address. Well, with a keynote address.
In all honesty, Perry makes a decent - if not overwhelming - choice for keynote speaker: in times of economic stress, Perry recognized the benefits of making Texas attractive for game developers, and even offers financial incentives and grants to would-be studios in the Lone Star State.
"Governor Perry and the E3 Media & Business Summit are both great success stories. The Governor's keynote address is especially timely given the high concentration of entertainment software developers and publishers in Texas as well as the state's long-standing support of our industry,"
...said Michael D. Gallagher, CEO of the ESA and former Bush crony. Hmm. Maybe it's not so surprising a choice for speaker after all. Gallagher is cited, after all, as one of the major reasons that Activision/Vivendi withdrew from the ESA (and now LucasArts?).
That being the case, Rick Perry still sends a good message about the ESA working with the government. Now if we can only get the head of the ESA to work with the ESA.

HA! In Texas we call him, Governor Good Hair. No gay rumors there though....NONE at all.
He's a bush croney
he's staunchly anti-gay
I think SOMETHING should be said about how he pulled a re-election year stunt by signing the amendment to the constitution banning gay marriage in a CHURCH.
Rick Perry + gays > fun
