Lara Croft Gets Man Arrested In Real Life

Somewhere in the UK, an over-enthusiastic police officer is embarrassed.
David Williams, 42, owns a computer shop and received the statue of the Tomb Raider heroine as a promotional item. Deciding to sell it on Ebay, he took Lara home.Coincidentally, he called police around midnight to report some harassing phone calls. When officers arrived, Williams didn't answer the door. Peering in the window, the officers caught the silhouette of Lara holding a pistol. They cordoned off the street, burst through the back door of the home and held Williams at gunpoint.
On top of all that, the police then held the poor man for 13 hours and are charging him with a firearms offense. (no word on if he had an actual gun as well). Then Lara was confiscated.
God help him if he'd had a Gears of War cutout or something. On the plus side, when he gets it back he can probably charge more for the statue.
SWAT Team Mistakes Lara Croft for Crazed Gunman [GamePolitics]

I hate to be "that" guy but uh...well, this is pretty old. Like over a year old.
I guess Game Politics had a brain fart or senior moment or something because the original story says:
"Last updated at 18:57 15 May 2007"
Unless I'm missing something.
Is it just me or does it seem like everytime the cops do something retarded and lacking total common sense, they still look for a criminal to make it seem like they did the right thing. Let's not forget the whole Aqua Teen lightbright fiasco.
The world is going to hell, I only pray that I'm a spectator and not a participant.
Opps, my critique has garnered the attention of law enforcement. So much for being a spectator!
