Nintendo's Indian Summer: No First-Party Games At All This June

Microsoft and Sony have taken months-long vacations before, but June will be Nintendo of America's first month in years without a published first-party game. Neither the Wii nor the DS will be seeing any first-party summer lovin', as MTV's Stephen Totilo was told in a recent email:
Nintendo does not, in fact, have any first-party games releasing in June. We continue to enjoy strong third-party support for both Wii and Nintendo DS. In June alone, titles such as "Guitar Hero" for the DS and "Lego Indiana Jones," "Rock Band" and "Guitar Hero: Aerosmith are all scheduled to come out for the Wii.
While Nintendo has a history of publishing its own games at an aggressive pace, its furious pace belied what many believe is an inability to count on enough third-party development to hold its hardware platforms aloft.
This begs the question: is Nintendo's month off a sign of strengthening third-party support, a sign of a slowdown in Nintendo's own creative mill, or merely a pre-E3 hush?

After the launching Smash Bros, Mario Kart and WiiFit in a three month span, Nintendo has enough of my money for now. I appreciate the break.
