PAL Virtual Console Releases - Hanabi Festival Edition Part 3!
It's the 3rd and final week of the Hanabi Festival, which gives PAL wii users the chance to download virtual console titles that previously never made it to the west. So far it's been pretty excellent, with a heavy focus on vertical shooters such as Star Soldier and Gradius, and this weeks 3 titles are no exception.
First up is Star Parodier (900 Points, TurboGraphix), Hudson's answer to Konami's Parodius series. Choosing one of three ships (a giant bomberman, a cute take on the ship in Star Soldier and a giant PC Engine) you set out and blast bizarre things in a colorful environment. Though not as well designed as Konami's attempt, it's still a must-buy for shooter fans.
Next up is Grey Lancer (Mega Drive, 900 Points) another scrolling ship shooting game, a bit more grittier though. To me at least this is the least well known shooter of the Hanabi festival so feel free to post your thoughts and suggestions in the comments below.
And finally, the odd one out, Digital Champ (700 Points, TurboGraphix), providing you with the cheapest experience but also the most tame being simply a first person boxing game a la Punch-Out. The graphics are pretty though.
Well friends, it's been a great few weeks for import titles on the wii. Thankfully none of these titles have a limited release like some last year (that I know of), so make sure to read the previous updates and see if anything tickles your fancy. As usual, have a great week of gaming!

I'd just like the opportunity to once again say how jealous I am. Our PAL pals may not get many breaks from Nintendo, but when you guys get nice things, you get really nice things.
