Rumorama: Kid Icarus Wii Information Explosion

The rumors for an upcoming Wii translation of the respected Kid Icarus series have been floating around the internet for ages. Heightened from Pit's inclusion into Super Smash Brothers Brawl, and strengthened by IGN's Matt Casamassina disclosing that the classic franchise would be returning to Nintendo's new baby, gaming website Kombo rocked the net this morning by posting a series of purported developmental sketches of gaming's next interpretation of the adventures of Pit.
As disclosed from Kombo:
- The artwork comes from early 2008 proposal, art style has further advanced.
- Nintendo has shown interest in Factor 5 developing the project, though the project has not been officially green lighted.
- The plot that Factor 5 has pitched involves Pit being "cursed for thousands of years for a crime and becomes a 'fallen angel'."
- The tattoo on Pit's arm operates as a branding of his criminal status.
It should come to little surprise that Nintendo has no comment on any of the information divulged by Kombo, though the most recent issue of Nintendo Power pledges to have a huge revelation in store for the gaming public next month.
Time will tell whether this information leak holds water or not.
Kid Icarus Wii [unconfirmed] [Kombo]

Aw, I want this game to exist, but not with Pit looking like that! I want cute adorable little Pit, the happy cute face of a game that will kick your ass.
I mean, I know Palutena made him a man at the end of the NES game, but if he were to stay like that, he'd be MAN Icarus!
Reminds me a bit of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver.
I always liked the concept of Kid Icaris, but I never liked the gameplay. I'm more than curious (if this game exists) on how it will translate onto a 3-D realm. Would be interesting to see.
Hey you got your Prince of Persia in my Kid Icarus!
While a new KI is seemingly in the works (too many rumors, IGN "mistakes," etc.), those pics are mediocre fanart at best.
I hope that Nintendo would have enough wits to realize that people do not want a KI sequel to fade into a PoP rip off.
Hopefully by "fallen angel" they mean that he starts off at the bottom of a bunch of platforms..and has to climb his way to the top. For whatever reason.
Well, in the first game he was supposed to be trapped in the underworld for some reason.
Be funny if Nintendo made Kid Icarus the Nintendo brand God of War, with more flying and hovering XD
personally? I hope that they give this game an actual coherent PLOT!!!!
and, i really don't mind the POP'ish looks as long as they can pull them off right.
