See You Later, PlayStation 3 Price Cut

Universally accepted as being "hella pricey," a large segment of the gaming market has been anticipating further reductions in the PlayStation 3 price to occur at some point during the current year. Unfortunately, Sony management, via Lazard Capital Markets analyst Colin Sebastian, has so far determined that the console will probably be staying at $400 for an extended period of time.
"During its earnings call, Sony management indicated the company is now more focused on achieving profitability in the PlayStation segment and rolling out online services (e.g., PlayStation Home) rather than chasing unit market share vs. Microsoft and Nintendo," Sebastian wrote in an investor note."Importantly, management comments also suggest that a price cut is less likely on the PS3 this year, at least in the near term."
Within the strata of objections toward the purchase of a PlayStation 3, the overall net expense of the purchase, and the inability to justify the purchase based on software lineup, seems to be the primary fault. While online content like Home may entice adopters, I'm strongly doubting that the service will revolutionize sales in the manner anticipated by Sony.

This combined with the April NPDs...simply amazing! It is as if Sony forgot what made their first system so popular with publishers, developers, *and* customers.
Anyone want to play "Wait till [game title]"? MGS4? Little Big Planet? FF 13? Haze? Is there anything at this point that could turn things around?
