Sega Announces "Platinum Games"

No, it's not another release of classics for a cheap price tag, it's Sega's newest publishing venture! In a press conference last night, Sega announced the newly formed Platinum Games that was created by the core members of the now defunct Clover Studios. If Clover Studios sounds familiar it's because they were the brains behind Okami and Viewtiful Joe, just to name a couple titles.
They also announced three titles that would be coming to consoles near you in the very near future. First up is an action game by Devil may Cry creator Hideki Kamiya called Bayonetta for the Xbox 360 and PS3. It features a heavily armed witch who is out to do battle with the angels. Next we have Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami's highly stylized blood fest, Madworld for the Wii where players take on the role of a contestant in a violent reality show (Shades of Running Man, anyone?). And finally there is Hifumi Kouno's Infinite Line, a space adventure RPG for the DS.
It's good to see the Clover folks back together and working on what sound like some pretty interesting titles. I am particularly intrigued by Madworld as I always love a little ultra-violence on the Wii.
