S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Prequel Coming To The US

Deep Silver publishing has announced that they will be releasing S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky in the North America. Clear Sky is a prequel to the Russian PC Survival FPS, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. From the press release...
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky is a survival FPS game for PC based on a 'what-if' scenario of the second Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant accident. The game is created as a warning to mankind against mindless play with technologies. It is set in 2011and brings forth the events to have preceded the third campaign of Strelok to the Zone center. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky introduces an alternative look onto the events of the original game and offers the player to try himself out as a mercenary s.t.a.l.k.e.r. in search of his own path in the world of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
PC gamers take note, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky hits stores on August 29, 2008.

I liked STALKER, it's a good thing another Chernobyl will never happen, the lousy Russians let that place get into such a disrepaired state.
Here in the UK they're building a load of Nuclear stations, which is one of the best things this country could ever do.
Safe and clean.
Thank god I don't buy into aimless unintelligent hysteria.
I was extremely and pleasantly surprised by the first STALKER game. I think what made it so amazingly atmospheric is that the environments are all pretty much from the real area around Chernobyl and Pripyat in the Ukraine. You can find pictures of the area online and suddenly you get a sense of "where have I seen this before? Oh yeah, STALKER!"
Knowing that you're walking in-game in places where real, human beings actually lived and died is quite an odd sensation.
This games attitude really annoys me.
"The game is created as a warning to mankind against mindless play with technologies"
2 points:
a) If we didn't mindlessly strive for progress we wouldn't HAVE videogames
b) It was mindless play with technology that invented the Gravity Gun, Portal gun, and Kleiner Teleports
