Video: Dead Space Story Trailer
EA's upcoming spaced based horror title Dead Space has been steeped in mystery since word first spread about the game last year, and don't expect this "Story Trailer" to give much away. Basically you've got a bunch of creepy, histrionic voice-overs, a crumbling space-ship filled with mystery, and some dude in a glowy mask getting repeatedly throttled by some Silent Hill rejects. Doom much? Actually, the trailer also gives me System Shock 2 vibes, and there are far worse games they could be cribbing.
In their Developer Diary #2, seen after the break, the game makers expound a little about the story and their approach to creating the game's plot. It definitely sounds like they're taking the right approach, even if the individual ingredients might seem a little stale. With the amount of promotional push EA's giving this game, no doubt the production values will be top notch, and the company's got to be confident to push a new IP out this fall, facing Silent Hill: Homecoming, Gears of War 2, and Resistance 2. If the game lives up to their promise, it would be a shame to see it lost in the mix.
