Video: Western Show On Super Mario World
Two immediate points of concern are conjured from watching the animated short Western Show on Super Mario World:
- What in the world is going on here?
- Why is this happening?
Though it is good to see Luigi adorned as the shining prince he can occasionally be, the hyper-Western-ism portrayed here rattles me. Perhaps, it is the heavy veil of pleasant surrealism present in the Super Mario series that makes any pseudo-realistic reference worthy of nothing but heavy wincing.
I have willfully suspended my disbelief for this video game series, Japan. Please don't take that for granted now some 22-plus years later.

Wow, that is really catchy~
Why is Luigi hot?
you know how after you've seen something you can never UN-see it?
yeah...
"Stay tuned for more... TALES! OF! INTEREST!"
Seriously, though, I'm rendered speechless by this whole thing. Bravo.
As you can probably tell from the animations... the lyrics are something along the lines of Mario and Bowser fighting over Peach, Luigi jumps in so they attack him, and at the end Peach says they're all ugly so they give up...
poor luigi...
I have no idea what they mean by "Western." Any ideas?

Look up Hyadain on youtube for his other videos. They're all very well done. The Nintendogs/dr mario song is really sad and touching, while the crashman one is just hilarious.
