American McGee's Grimm Coming July 31 To GameTap

If you're looking for a reason to renew your lapsing GameTap subscription, Grimm may well be the reason to do it. We've been hearing about the game for a while but it looks like it is finally coming to fruition. The game is created by the infamous American McGee (Alice) and takes place in the world of fairy tales. It will be episodic with a new chapter appearing every week on the Gametap service. The first eight episodes (out of a total of 24) will begin July 31 and encompasses such stories as Little Red Riding Hood, Beauty and the Beast, Puss in Boots and others.
Initially I was a bit disappointed in the game's art style as compared to the original concept art, but as time goes on I find it growing on me. This new raft of screens actually has me more back on board with the title although I will need to actually play it to give a real judgment on it. However I am a huge fan of Alice and this seems to hearken back to the dark feeling that made that game so great.
A gallery of screens resides below and you can check out the list of upcoming episodes after the jump!

Considering how bad ass grimms stories already are (I mean, august 28 - THe Girl without hands, and theres lots more where that came from) I can only imagine great things coming from this. Just hope he's trying a little harder to keep focus than with Alice. I found myself breezing through levels that deserved to be explored...
