Design A Sackboy And Win With Little Big Planet Contest
For all you budding Sack artists, Don't Panic has teamed up with Sony to offer you a chance to get your Little Big Planet character into the game once it releases later this year. Simply download the template (pdf, eps, jpg), mock up a character in your favorite image editing software, then register at the website and submit your entry. If you're not quite artistically inclined, you can just browse the current entries and eventually vote for your favorites, although that part of the contest doesn't appear to be up and running quite yet.
The other prizes include a copy of the game (naturally) and a PS3, as well as eternal fame as you watch your creation play alongside content by other artists and celebrities.
Interestingly, although to register for the site itself, they ask you to choose from a small list of cities, including places in the United Kingdom, Brazil, and Australia, there are apparently no restrictions on location for entering the contest itself, so North Americans and people from other countries should feel free to give it a try. Right now I see a couple of Solid Snakes, a Superman, a PaRappa, and, of course, a Hitler. Gamers really are a considerate bunch.
